Product Description
Pallet Live Storage
Pallet Live Storage offers a high-density, bulk storage solution based on the FiFO concept (First in First Out). The idea behind Pallet Live Storage is to provide a compact storage solution where a large quantity of pallets can be stored while taking up as little space as possible. It's main feature is to enable efficient stock rotation and is particularly of interest to businesses who store perishable goods or goods with a short shelf life. Because stock rotation is automatic it requires minimal use of forklift trucks where double handling might otherwise be required. Pallet Live Storage systems are configured to ensure the oldest stock is most readily available for picking. While Pallet Live Storage requires good quality pallet, it can be utilised with most pallet types include even stillages. Every efficient warehouse or factory relies on good Inventory management where the location of each and every pallet can be identified, Pallet Live Storage provides this.
Pallet Live Storage Design
Pallet Live Storage is built from traditional Pallet Racking frames and beams but configured to condense pallets as close together as possible. Instead of the traditional aisles you might find in a standard Pallet Racking system, Pallet Live Storage utilises lanes which run parallel to each other similar to a 100m running track and can be upto 20m in length. The lanes are designed to facilitate the automatic movement of pallets along a series of rollers which are positioned on a slight slope so only gravity is required to move the pallet forward. Along a typical roller bed are braked rollers which control the speed the pallets as they move forwards. Each roller bed also includes a mechanism which seperates the pallet located at the very front of the queue from the compressed weight of the pallets behind. This seperation enables easier more efficient picking and safe removal of each pallet. Within each lane there can be multiple levels of roller beds only limited by the reach of the forklift truck making Pallet Live Storage a very high density storage solution.
Pallet Live Storage Use
With Pallet Live Storage, care must always be taken but it's operation and use is a very simple process. When a pallet is to be deposited into the system, the FLT operator aligns themselves with a chosen lane and approaches with the pallet raised just above the roller beds. If the forklift truck has a tilt mechanism then this should be engaged prior to placing the pallet. The roller beds are installed with a 4° slope so if the pallet can be tilted to a similar angle then placement of the pallet is easier. Option Entry Guides can be fitted to the system which act as a visual guide to ensure correct placement of each pallet. Once the pallet is in place and the forks retracted, the pallet is then free to roll forwards until it comes into contact with pallets already in the lane. To unload a pallet, the forlift truck driver aligns themselves with a chosen lane and then lifts the pallet and reverses to complete the pallet removal. Once the pallet is removed, the seperator mechanism is released so the next pallet in the queue can then roll to the front position.
